To program buttons on the remote control by using the learning feature1 Place the remote control for Media Center PC head to head (2 to 3 inches apart) with the remote control from which it is learning.

2 On the remote control for Media Center PC, press and hold the DVD MENU and OK buttons at the same time until the remote control lights turn off (2 seconds). The remote is now in learning setup mode.

The remote control for Media Center PC lights blink twice to confirm the selection. If the remote did not learn the command, the lights blink quickly four times. To try again, repeat steps 1 through 4.

To restore the default remote control settings1 Press and hold the DVD MENU button and LEFT navigation button at the same time until the remote control for Media Center PC lights turn off.

I had problems doing the volume controls, but then I reset the remote (using the above instructions) then re-learned the power first, then vol+ finishing with vol- and it worked perfectly. (mine too is 1039 model)

For this setup I chose to use ir-keytable because it has the addedbenefit that I can use the MCE remote control to recall commands inthe console with the up arrow, and execute with the OK or Enter keys.

This. Harmony 650 controls 8 devices. I have two controlling 5 devices in living room and 4 in bedroom. Only $38 bucks on Amazon right now. -Harmony-Infrared-Universal-Programmable/dp/B004OVECU0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1538690985&sr=8-3&keywords=logitech+650+harmony+remote

You can get the harmony smart control for only $70. I realize it doesn't show in the pictures on Amazon but it does in fact come with the hub and the remote. You can also use your phone / tablet as a remote with the harmony app.

Despite some negative reviews on Amazon I think this is the Harmony remote to get: =emc_b_5_t. If you don't need the smart home controls, you can save some bucks buying the older model. The hub based remotes are great because they don't require line of site from the remote, and you can also control all your devices with your phone/tablet.

Logitech Harmony Home Control. There's a smartphone app you can download to control everything alternatively. Not as convenient as the physical remote, of course, but useful. It's helped me tremendously with all the times my wife has placed the remote out of reach, or let it slip somewhere between couch cushions or under her pillow & blanket fort.

On the subject of remotes while the fancy gyro controls on the main remote is nice I'd actually recommend getting a LG service remote instead. Way cheaper and even if your not planning on hacking the display having dedicated HDMI buttons is really nice. Then again I barely use either and just have it setup to work with my voice assistant and my Nvidia Shield remote instead.

I can't guarantee this will work, but the Roku voice remote works over wifi. If you buy that and connect it to your roku tv, you should be able to control the roku without affecting the Insignia. Then, you can cover the IR sensor on the roku tv with a piece of electrical tape so the Insignia remote doesn't affect the roku.

If all else fails, you can order one of these remotes for $25. I purchased 2 of them and these are the only remotes that I found easy to program. I tried several others and went through all of their codes and couldn't get them to work. On this one, I was able to use the first number in the list for each model device for my Samsung TV, Roku box, Pioneer receiver, Sony DVD. -Universal-Backlit-Learning-Streamers/dp/B00M4I1BAY/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=int-422-3&qid=1589594699&sr=8-3This will tell you the devices that are supported by this remote. It is also programmable from your old remote if it still works. -universal-remote-control-device-code-lookup.html

Harmony isn't making more remotes, but they're selling and supporting what's left. I've tried many harmony remotes and this is my favorite. The remote is light, fits nicely in the hand, the battery seems to last forever and (with the right apps) you can have basic control of most other smart devices with the remote (Hue, etc).

No, you can definitely buy a Roku remote that controls power/volume/mute with any tv. I've bought the one linked below to use with an older Roku Stick, and am using it to control power/volume/mute of an old non-smart Insignia TV.

I have the Logitech 650 too in my living room (not hooked up to my Shield). It is an IR only remote and the Shield TV Pro has no IR receiver, so it won't control the Shield TV Pro directly. You can buy an IR receiver to connect via USB or control it through your TV using CEC (assuming your 650 already controls the TV). CEC may not control all functions you'll just need to test it out. 2ff7e9595c
